Nessa’s Garden.

My new work for this years art trail is a collection of fused layered glass pictures inspired by images from the garden.

Each design starts with the creation of a set of cartoons used as templates to hand cut each individual piece of glass. The pieces are then “painted” with coloured glass and each section fused together. These individual sections are then fused together into subsections with more glass painting as necessary. This stage may be repeated depending on the complexity of the image. After hand finishing and cleaning the whole piece is assembled and bonded to its backing board.

With this form of construction it is possible to combine multiple forms without the limiting constraint of the kiln size.

All panels 24x70cm aluminium framed. (Note: Frame colour may differ from image as displayed)
